NORTHFIELD, VT - Saint Joseph's College (3-3, 0-2
GNAC) fell to conference foe Norwich University (4-1, 3-0), 23-10,
on the road on Friday afternoon. Alyssa
Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) led the Lady Monks
with four goals and goalkeeper Taylor
Allison '12 (Pawtucket, RI) made 16 saves and set
a new program single-game record by collecting 14 groundballs in
the loss.
Ally Daniels '10 (Concord, NH) tallied six goals and added three
assists, both game-highs, for Norwich.
The Lady Monks trailed 11-7 going into halftime, but the Cadets
blew open the close game by outscoring the visitors, 12-3, in the
second half en route to collecting their fourth straight
victory.
Daniels scored three of her six goals in the first 13:19 as the
Cadets raced out to a 7-1 lead. Marchant netted
three goals of her own during a span of 8:13 to help fuel a 5-1
Saint Joseph's run that pulled the Lady Monks to within 8-6 at the
7:05 mark of the first half.
Norwich closed the opening stanza on a 3-1 spurt to take an 11-7
lead into halftime. Martin capped the run with a goal just eight
seconds prior to intermission.
The Cadets outscored the visitors 9-1 over the first 11:11 of the
second half to take a commanding 20-8 lead at the 18:49 mark.
Daniels finished the burst by scoring a pair of goals in a span of
11 seconds.

(Otisfield, ME) netted three goals, Lizzie
Farley '11 (Scarborough, ME) scored twice and
Lilly Rodden '11 (Lebanon, ME)
chipped in with a tally in the losing effort.
Norwich outshot Saint Joseph's 51-20 and held a 67-36 edge in
groundballs.
St. Joe's will host Saint Joseph College (CT) on Saturday in a
conference matchup at Deering Memorial Field at 5:00 PM. Norwich
will play at Lasell on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
