STANDISH, ME - SJC Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Anna Gordon has announced the team captains for the 2010 season.
Logen Ryley '10 (Leominster, MA), Vanessa Brooks '10 (Bath, ME) and Alyssa Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) will serve as tri-captains during the 2010 season for Coach Gordon, who is entering her first year as the Monks' clipboard carrier after serving as a co-head coach for the past two seasons. All three players served the team in the same capacity last season, when St. Joe's went 6-8 overall, 3-3 in GNAC play, and made an appearance in the GNAC Tournament for the second time in as many years.
Ryley, one of the Monks' top defenders, tallied a goal, 12 groundballs and 3 draw controls as a junior and Brooks netted 18 goals, 3 assists and 13 groundballs last spring. Marchant notched a near carbon-copy of her freshman campaign, with a team-high 46 goals and 51 total points. She also collected 30 groundballs, 33 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers in 2009.
Saint Joseph's will open the 2010 season with a game against University of Maine-Farmington on Tuesday, March 16th at Memorial Stadium in Portland, Maine. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
