GNAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams Announced

STANDISH, ME – The 2010 GNAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference awards have been announced and four Saint Joseph's players have received honors.

Midfielder Lauren Hagerman '10 (Scarborough, ME) and attacker Alyssa Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) have both been selected as First Team honorees for the second consecutive year, while first-year attacker Erika Waterhouse (South Portland, ME) and freshman defender Casey Monaghan (Portland, ME) have been listed on the second team.

Hagerman registered career-highs in goals (54), assists (29), points (83) and groundballs (53) during her senior season and became the first player in program history to reach the 200-point plateau on April 17th. She leaves the program as the Monks' all-time leader in assists (77), points (207) and draw controls (157) and holds the single-season records for assists, points and draw controls.

Marchant scored a team and career-high 61 goals and ranked second on the club with 65 points in 2010. Her 71 groundballs, along with her goal total, both rank as program single-season records and she became the first player in team history to reach the 100-goal mark with a tally against Thomas College on March 18th.

Waterhouse, a two-time GNAC Honor Roll selection as a rookie, netted 26 goals and six assists for 26 total points in her freshman campaign. Monaghan, one of the team's top defenders as a first-year player, ranked third on the squad with 37 groundballs and caused six turnovers in 2010. Both freshmen appeared in all 15 games for the Monks this spring.

Also, Megan Cutter '12 (Westbrook, ME) has been selected as the team's GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team representative.

The 2010 SJC Women's Lacrosse team posted the finest season in the three-year history of the program with a 10-4-1 overall record under Head Coach Anna Gordon. The Monks went 7-1 in conference play en route to earning the #2 seed in the GNAC Tournament and hosted the program's first playoff contest. St. Joe's lost to eventual GNAC Champion Norwich University, 12-10, in the conference quarterfinal round at Westerlea Way Field on April 21st.
