Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Anna Maria, 17-1

PAXTON, MA – Saint Joseph's College (9-6, 8-1 GNAC) toppled Anna Maria College (0-12, 0-9 GNAC), 17-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's lacrosse action on a rain soaked AMCAT field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Monks used a balanced attack and team play as sixteen different players notched goals with fifteen assists handed out. Senior Krystal Walsh (Springvale, Maine) potted one goal and added four assists to lead Saint Joseph's with five points. Sophomore Mary Leasure (South Portland, Maine/McAuley) was the only SJC player with two goals and also added an assist in the triumph.

Sophomore Kat Gadbois (Scarborough, Maine), senior Cassie Diplock (Augusta, Maine) and senior Anneka Adame (San Diego, Calif.) all had the same stat line: one goal with two assists. Freshman Emma Astbury (Bridgewater, Vt.) made six saves for her second win of the year.

The AMCATS' Brittany Jackson (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) tossed in the lone goal for Anna Maria, as the sophomore tipped the twine midway thru the second half. Junior Bridget Larsen (Hull, Mass.) posted fifteen saves in the loss.

Both teams resume play on Thursday, when Saint Joseph's hosts non-conference foe Maine-Farmington at Deering Memorial Stadium at 7:30 PM and Anna Maria hosts Rivier University at 4:00 PM.
