Wilson Selected as GNAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior midfielder Jackie Wilson (Tiverton, R.I.) has been named as the GNAC Player of the Week.

Wilson registered eight goals, three assists, eight ground balls, 10 draw controls, and five caused turnovers in a pair of conference victories on the road last week. The senior captain scored four goals with two assists and four caused turnovers versus Mount Ida - previously unbeaten in GNAC play - on Wednesday and added four goals and an assist in a 13-10 triumph over Simmons on Saturday.

Through nine games this spring, Wilson has recorded 21 goals, 10 assists, 42 ground balls, 43 draw controls, and 20 caused turnovers. She currently ranks fourth in the GNAC in ground balls, fifth in draw controls, and sixth in caused turnovers.

For Wilson, a 2016 Second Team All-Conference selection, the weekly conference honor is a career first.

Saint Joseph's (7-2, 4-0 GNAC) will host Lasell College in a conference clash Wednesday evening at Deering Memorial Stadium. Face-off is slated for 8:00 PM.
