WATERVILLE, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (7-2) cruised past Thomas College (0-5), 26-4, in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Monday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks opened the game with seven-consecutive goals, including four from senior Elyse Caiazzo (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus), and held a 14-2 cushion heading into halftime.
In the second stanza, St. Joe's rattled off seven straight strikes and held a 21-2 lead after junior Samantha Medlin (Kingston, Mass.) netted her second goal of the game with 16:18 remaining.
THE KEEPERS:
SJC sophomore Kaylin Mansir (West Gardiner, Maine) made one save in the victory while Sydni Collier posted eight stops in a losing effort for the Terriers.
TEAM STATS:
The Monks held advantages in shots (37-6), ground balls (19-12), and draw controls (24-8) in the lopsided triumph.

- Caiazzo scored six goals with two assists and 10 draw controls
- Junior Kayla Kelly (York, Maine) netted four goals with three assists and 11 draw controls
- Sophomore Madison Beaulieu (West Gardiner, Maine) contributed four goals, three assists, and two ground balls
- Junior Kara Kelly (York, Maine) added four goals and two assists
- Medlin chipped in with two goals and an assist
- Senior Brianne Maloney (South Portland, Maine) notched a goal and an assist with three ground balls and three caused turnovers
- Junior Brittney Arsenault (Westbrook, Maine) scored three goals with an assist, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 9-1 in the history of the series with Thomas College.
