Monks Fall to Golden Bears, 1-0

BANGOR, Maine – Western New England University (2-1) edged Saint Joseph's College (1-2), 1-0, at the 12th Annual Husson Classic this afternoon.

The Golden Bears registered the game's only offense when senior forward Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.) netted an unassisted tally at the 36:48 mark of the first half. WNE sophomore keeper stopped all five of the shots she faced to earn the shutout victory.

For the Monks, senior Desiree Parent (Westborough, Mass.) and sophomore Emily Thornton (Westbrook, Maine) tallied two shots apiece while junior goalkeeper Brooke Troup (East Bridgewater, Mass.) turned away three shots in a losing bid.

Saint Joseph's hosts Thomas College Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
