SJC Swim Teams Collect National Academic Honors

STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's swim teams have garnered College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors, supported by Nike Swim, for the second time in the last three years.

In all, 140 NCAA DIII women's programs and 92 men's teams earned the 2014 Spring Team Scholar All American Award, which is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams posting a 3.0 in the semester coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Saint Joseph's is one of just three New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) members (Elms College and Regis College being the others) to have both the men's and women's programs honored with the CSCAA academic accolade. Overall nine NEISDA women's teams and three NEISDA men's teams received mention.

In the New England region, 24 women's teams and 13 men's programs received the award for academic excellence. Saint Joseph's is among 13 New England institutions for which both teams earned 2014 CSCAA academic acclaim this past spring.

Full lists for each division may be found at www.cscaa.org
