Women Fall at Simmons, 188-73

BOSTON, Mass. – Simmons College defeated Saint Joseph's College, 188-73, in head to head women's swimming action on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) highlighted the event for the Monks by winning the 1000-Free by a mere two one-hundredths of a second with a 12:26.09 effort and also placed fifth in the 500-Free (6:14.19).

Junior Anne Fougere (Warner, N.H.) was second in the 100-Breast (1:20.57) and third in the 50-Breast (36.47) while sophomore Danielle Charette (Westfield, Mass.) placed third in the 50-Back (34.00) and fifth in the 50-Free (29.67) and 50-Fly (32.72) events.

Junior Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) finished third in the 500-Free (5:56.61) and fourth in the 200-Free (2:13.08), junior Alexandra Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) placed fourth in the 100-Back (1:14.02) and junior Olivia Pickering (South Portland, Maine/Cheverus) was fifth in the 50-Back (35.96) and 100-Back (1:21.32).

Also, sophomore Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) placed fifth in the 50-Breast (37.90) and 100-Breast (1:22.80) events and freshman Miranda Boe (Nobleboro, Maine) finished fifth in the 100-Free (1:16.08) race.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Friday at University of New England at 6:00 PM.
