WESTON, Mass. – Regis College picked up a pair of wins over the Saint Joseph's College swim team on Saturday afternoon. The Pride topped the Monks' women by a 135-95 score and defeated the SJC men, 110-46.
THE RUN DOWN - MEN:
Ben Johnson (Belmont, Mass.) highlighted the day for the Monks, as the junior standout won the 100-Free (53.39), bested his own record by exactly three seconds in the 200-Fly (2:10.52), and posted a 1:00.70 time in the 100-IM
Senior Alexander Gilvey (Windham, Maine) won the 200-Back (2:16.48) by over 17 seconds, finished second in the 50-Fly (26.75), and placed third in the 50-Back (28.20)
Senior Andrew Merlino (Natick, Mass.) was the runner-up in the 500-Free (5:41.18) and finished fourth in the 50-Back (28.80) and 50-Free (24.67)
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
The quartet of sophomore Leia Berube (Brewer, Maine), junior Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine), freshman Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine) and senior Brooke Huberdeau (North Andover, Mass.) swam together to finish as the runner-up in the 200-Medley relay (2:14.77)
Junior Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) won the 1000-Free (12:40.03), was the runner-up in the 500-Free (6:12.65), and placed third in the 100-Free (1:08.50)
Huberdeau was the top finisher in the 200-Free (2:17.69) and 500-Free (6:03.32) events
Senior Allie Krasco (Melrose, Mass.) placed second in the 50-Back (36.41), third in the 100-IM (1:19.83), and fourth in the 200-Back (2:43.48)
Berube was third in the 50-Back (37.82) and fifth in the 50-Free (33.87) and 200-Nack (2:48.24) events
Senior Annie Fougere (Warner, N.H.) finished second in the 50-Breast (37.24) and 200-Breast (2:54.70) races and fourth in the 50-Free (31.45)
Rowlett placed second in the 200-Fly (2:50.68) and third in the 200-Back (2:35.00) and 50-Fly (32.84) events
Prue was the runner-up in the 100-Free (1:05.40), 50-Fly (32.57) and 100-IM (1:14.39) races
Huberdeau, Krasco, Fougere and Halvorsen registered a 4:30.23 effort in the 400-Free relay
The Monks will host their first home meet of the season with a dual match versus Husson University and Merrimack College. The event starts at 1:00 PM.
