BOSTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimming and Diving Championship concluded on Sunday night and the Saint Joseph's College women's team placed fourth with 384 points. The SJC men finished fifth in the GNAC Invitational with 44 points.

RECAP – WOMEN:

The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team won its 13th consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship and 15th in the last 16 years with 1104 points, well ahead of runner-up Regis College, which tallied 541 points. The Norwich University women tallied 435 points to place third and Saint Joseph's College finished fourth with 384. Husson University placed fifth with 365 points, while University of Saint Joseph racked up 286 points to finish sixth, ahead of Elms College, which scored 251 points.

For Saint Joseph's, 10 swimmers combined to participate in 32 finals events and four relay races.

SJC HIGHLIGHTS:

• Sophomore Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine) advanced to four finals events with top-eight finishes in each, including the 200-Fly (2:48.38, 6th), the 200-Back (2:26.92, 7th), 100-Fly (1:09.46, 8th) and 100-Back (1:09.29, 8th)
• Freshman Emily Roy (Sidney, Maine) also swam in four finals and set a new program record with a fifth-place finish in the 200-Back (2:22.72) on Saturday – she also placed seventh in the 100-Back (1:07.39), ninth in the 400-IM (5:35.48), and 11th in the 200-IM (2:34.44)
• Senior Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) participated in four finals with a seventh-place effort in the 400-IM (5:30.67), an eighth-place finish in the 100-Breast (1:21.43), a 10th-place time in the 100-Fly (1:12.51) and a 12th-place performance in the 50-Breast (37.95)
• Freshman Alexis Coiley (Fort Fairfield, Maine) posted fourth-place finishes in the 500-Free (5:50.35) and 1000-Free (12:11.30) with a fifth-place time in the 200-Free (2:10.18)
• Senior Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) was fifth in the 1000-Free (12:12.93), eighth in the 500-Free (6:01.12), and 11th in the 200-Free (2:17.70)
• Freshman Autumn Nostrom (Lyman, Maine) placed seventh in the 50-Breast (36.73), ninth in the 200-Breast (3:00.55), and 10th in the 100-Breast (1:19.58)
• Sophomore Alicia Robinson (Gorham, Maine) finished 11th in the 500-Free (6:28.73), 12th in the 200-Free (2:22.73), and 16th in the 100-Free (1:03.25)
• Junior Leia Berube (Brewer, Maine) was 11th in the 200-Back (2:45.52), 12th in the 400-IM (6:00.72), and 16th in the 200-IM (2:49.40)
• Freshman Hailey Bouyea (Lewiston, Maine) placed 13th in the 200-Breast (3:16.25), 15th in the 100-Breast (1:29.57), and 16th in the 50-Breast (41.29)
• Senior Erin Weir (North Andover, Mass.) advanced to the finals in two events, finishing 10th in the 50-Back (33.14) and 13th in the 200-Free (2:23.62)
• Roy, Nostrom, Rowlett, and Coiley raced to a third-place finish in the 400-Medley relay (4:37.54) on Saturday
• Coiley, Halvorsen, Weir, and Robinson posted a fourth-place time in the 800-Free relay (9:09.83) on Sunday
• Weir, Coiley, Nostrom, and Robinson finished fifth in the 200-Free relay (1:53.14) on Saturday
• Roy, Nostrom, Rowlett, and Robinson raced to a fifth-place finish in the 200-Medley relay (2:06.87) on Sunday

RECAP – MEN:

Norwich University registered 369 points to claim the program's sixth GNAC Invitational title in as many seasons, as the Cadets outdistanced runner-up Regis College, which tallied 214 points, Elms College (136), Husson University (72), and Saint Joseph's College (44).

For the Monks, two individuals combined to race in three finals events and four team members competed in a relay final.

SJC HIGHLIGHTS:

• Sophomore Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.) posted a third-place finish with a 58.93 time in the 100-Fly and finished fourth in the 200-Fly with a 2:17.49 effort
• Sophomore Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) finished eighth in the 500-Free with a 5:38.44 performance
• Austin Bear (Hanover, Maine), Gryskwicz, Madison Bodine (South China, Maine) and Quinlan raced to a fifth-place finish in the 200-Free relay (1:43.63)

Saint Joseph's is off until Monday, January 16th when both teams compete at University of New England in a 1:00 PM start.
