NEISDA Championship: Day Two Recap

KINGSTON, R.I. – Saint Joseph's College finished the second complete day of the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championships (NEISDA) at University of Rhode Island on Saturday evening. Through 34 events, the men are in 12th place with 49 points while the women are currently in 18th with 94 points.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Lauren Prue (Glenburn, Maine) competed in a pair of trials, with appearances in the 400-IM (5:28.62) and 100-Breast (1:19.05) prelims
  • Freshman Autumn Nostrom (Lyman, Maine) appeared in the 50-Fly (32.20) and 100-Breast (1:20.53) trials
  • Freshman Emily Roy (Sidney, Maine) was just over three-tenths of a second from breaking the SJC 100-Back record with a 1:07.03 effort
  • Sophomore Alicia Robinson (Gorham, Maine) raced in the 200-Free (2:16.17) trials
  • Freshman Alexis Coiley (Fort Fairfield, Maine) and senior Lauren Halvorsen (South Portland, Maine) both appeared in the 1000-Free trials with 12:05.06 and 12:06.53 times, respectively
  • Roy, Nostrom, Rowlett, and Robinson notched a 2:06.87 mark in the 200-Medley Relay prelims

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) raced in the 1000-Free prelim and recorded an 11:13.36 performance
  • Gryskwicz, Austin Bear (Hanover, Maine), Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.), and Madison Bodine (South China, Maine) posted a 1:59.52 time in the 200-Medley Relay trials

NEXT!

The final day of the NEISDA Championship begins Sunday with the preliminary races at 10:00 AM with the day's finals starting at 6:00 PM.
