Monks Split at Gordon College

WENHAM, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College closed out the regular season with a head to head meet at Gordon College on Saturday afternoon. The men posted an 87-84 victory while the women fell, 140-78, at the hands of the Fighting Scots.

The Saint Joseph's men capped the season with a 7-2 team record, the first winning record in program history.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Sophomore Hailey Bouyea (Lewiston, Maine) won the 100-Breast (1:26.62) and finished second in the 1000-Free (13:55.31)
  • Freshman Jasmine Dort (Essex, Mass.) was second in the 200-Free (2:24.50) and third in the 50-Free (29.85)
  • Junior Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine) placed second in the 50-Back (33.61) and third in the 100-Back (1:13.88) and 50-Fly (33.03) events
  • Sophomore Autumn Nostrom (Lyman, Maine) finished second in the 50-Free (29.20)
  • Sophomore Emily Roy (Sidney, Maine) placed second in the 500-Free (6:28.53)
  • Senior Leia Berube (Brewer, Maine) was third in the 100-Fly (1:26.42)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Freshman Caleb Levine (Portland, Maine/Waynflete) won the 200-Free (2:01.98) and finished second in the 100-Fly (1:03.04)
  • Sophomore Austin Bear (Hanover, Maine) won the 50-Breast (34.09) and 100-Breast (1:18.66) and was third in the 100-IM (1:19.89)
  • Freshman Joey Christian (Scarborough, Maine) placed second in the 1000-Free (11:36.42), 100-Back (1:01.84), and 500-Free (5:38.84) events
  • Junior Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) won the 100-Free (55.43) and was second in the 50-Free (24.88)
  • Junior Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.) won the 100-IM (1:02.26) and finished second in the 50-Fly (26.79)
  • Christian, Quinlan, Levine, and Gryskwicz won the 200-Medley Relay (1:51.17)

NEXT!

Saint Joseph's closes out the 2017-18 campaign with an appearance in the 2018 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship, which begins on Friday, February 16th and concludes on February 18th.
