Monks Compete at Bowdoin College Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's indoor track & field team placed eighth with four points in the Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) slashed over 21 seconds off her 5000-Meter record with a 19:22.96 performance and placed fourth in the distance race. Senior Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) also fared well, placing 11th in the 3000-Meter (11:40.43) and 12th in the 1-Mile (5:34.98).

Sophomores Kristina Schelling (Pelham, N.H.) and Gabrielle Lodge (Westbrook, Maine) competed in the 400-Meter, placing 12th (1:10.79) and 13th (1:16.73), respectively while sophomore Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) was 15th in the 600-Meter (1:57.86) and junior Rebecca Braun (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished 18th (2:10.37) in the same event

First-years Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine), who finished 27th in the 200-Meter (33.10), and Chiara Sabatini (Rowley, Mass.), who was 33rd in the 60-Meter (10.91), and junior Michelle Cunha (Enfield, Conn.), who placed 17th in the shot put (8.67m), also competed for the Monks at Bowdoin.

The Monks return to action next Saturday at the University of Southern Maine.
