Dostie Caps Collegiate Career at ECAC Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College senior Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) capped her collegiate career with an appearance in the ECAC DIII Championship at Springfield College on Thursday afternoon.

Dostie raced in the 3000-Meter steeplechase event and placed 20th out of 25 participants with an 11:54.10 performance. The event effectively serves as the last competition of her brilliant collegiate career.

Dostie, the 2015 Saint Joseph's College Female Student-Athlete and Athlete of the Year, will likely be remembered as one of the pioneers of the Monks' Track & Field program, which entered NCAA DIII varsity status in the winter of 2012-13. A three-time GNAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year who owns three of the top four times in program history, Dostie competed in 17 outdoor track & field events over three seasons. She holds the SJC outdoor record in four events (as well as four indoor marks) and advanced to the NCAA New England and ECAC Northeast Championships in each of her three years.
