Monks Finish Fourth at Bates Invitational

LEWISTON, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's indoor track & field team placed fourth with 17 points and the men's team also finished fourth with four points in the Bates College Invitational on Saturday.

THE RUNDOWN - WOMEN

  • Freshman Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) placed third in the 800-Meter (2:33.99) and eighth in the 1-Mile (5:52.62)
  • Junior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) finished fifth in the 600-Meter (1:58.08)
  • Senior Riley Jones (Winslow, Maine) was sixth in the 600-Meter (2:18.64)
  • Freshman Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) finished 10th in the 200-Meter (29.17) and placed 13th with a new program record time (8.63) in the 60-Meter prelims
  • Freshman Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) finished second in the high jump (1.43m) and seventh in the 60-Meter hurdles (10.18) and was 14th in the 60-Meter (8.76) prelims
  • Sophomore Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) placed 18th in the 200-Meter (32.88) and was 21st in the 60-Meter (9.60) prelims
  • Freshman Meghan Burke (Falmouth, Maine) finished 10th in the shot put (9.0m)
  • Senior Michelle Cunha (Enfield, Conn.) was 12th in the weight throw (8.11m) and 13th in the shot put (8.36m)
  • Smith, Barrett, Harnden and Burke posted a 2:03.13 time in the 4x200 relay and finished fourth overall

THE RUNDOWN - MEN

  • Senior Connor Dufour (Augusta, Maine) placed fourth in the 600-Meter (1:31.26)
  • Junior Nick Shuckrow (Winslow, Maine) was sixth in the 600-Meter (1:38.54)
  • Senior Taidghe Hagan (Reading, Mass.) finished eighth in the 1000-Meter (2:56.66)
  • Freshman James Stevens (Marshfield, Mass.) was 19th in the 200-Meter (31.14) finished 13th in the 60-Meter prelims (9.23)

Saint Joseph's will compete at University of Southern Maine next Saturday.
