SJC Indoor Track Teams Participate in Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed at Bowdoin College on Saturday, with the women placing sixth with eight points and the men finishing sixth with seven points.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) finished sixth in the 600-Meter Run (1:53.48)
  • Sophomore Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) placed sixth in the 800-Meter Run (2:35.88)
  • Freshman Breeann Sautter (Lisbon, Maine) was eighth in the 800-Meter Run (2:46.26)
  • Freshman Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine) finished eighth in the 1000-Meter Run (3:31.58)
  • Freshman Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine) placed eighth in the 200-Meter Dash (27.73, program record) and also posted a program-record 8.39 time in the 60-Meter Dash prelims
  • Sophomore Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) was ninth in the 400-Meter Dash (1:09.46) and 18th in the Shot Put (7.28m)
  • Sophomore Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) was 13th in the 200-Meter Dash (28.56) and notched an 8.58 effort in the 60-Meter Dash trial
  • Freshman Amanda Tavoletti (Reading, Mass.) placed 13th in the 1-Mile Run (6:27.68)
  • Freshman Laurel Grigalunas-Mahon (Hingham, Mass.) was 16th in the 1-Mile Run (6:55.50)
  • Freshman Jessica Ladd (Gilmanton, N.H.) placed 20th in the Shot Put (6.44m)
  • Sophomore Meghan Burke (Falmouth, Mass.) placed 23rd in the 200-Meter Dash (31.08)
  • Junior Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) finished 25th in the 200-Meter Dash (31.31) and posted a 9.37 time in the 60-Meter Dash prelims
  • Quirion, Smith, Sautter, and Curtin finished third in the Distance Medley (14:38.13)
 

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Freshman Keenan Welzel (Brunswick, Maine) broke the SJC program record with a fifth-place finish in the 1000-Meter Run (2:38.55)
  • Freshman Kevin McWilliams (New Milford, Conn.) placed sixth in the 800-Meter Run (2:14.96)
  • Freshman Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) finished seventh in the 800-Meter Run (2:17.81)
  • Sophomore Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) was seventh in the Weight Throw (9.61m) and ninth in the Shot Put (9.10m)
  • Freshman Ben Plante (Biddeford, Maine) finished eighth in the 3000-Meter Run (10:26.32)
  • Sophomore Kevin Cotter (Sandwich, Mass.) placed ninth in the Weight Throw (7.39m) and 11th in the Shot Put (8.86m)
  • Junior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) placed 11th in the 1000-Meter Run (2:52.53)
  • Sophomore Harry DeCotis (North Scituate, R.I.) finished 12th in the Shot Put (8.38m)
  • Sophomore Avery Liotta-Henderson (Waterbury, Conn.) finished 12th in the 1000-Meter Run (3:10.86)
  • Freshman David Tuttle (Brunswick, Maine) was 13th in the Shot Put (7.37m)
  • Freshman Connor White (Bayport, N.Y.) was 14th in the Shot Put (6.68m) and 18th in the 400-Meter Dash (1:03.45)
  • Freshman Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) placed 20th in the 200-Meter Dash (24.83) and posted a 7.85 time in the 60-Meter Dash prelims
  • Sophomore Joshua Hunter (Lawrence, Mass.) was 26th in the 200-Meter Dash (27.99) and notched an 8.45 effort in the 60-Meter Dash prelims
  • Freshman Zach Ham (Saco, Maine) finished 22nd in the 200-Meter Dash (24.99)
  • Boissonnault, Welzel, McWilliams, and Fisher finished fifth in the Distance Medley (11:55.87)

 

NEXT!

Both teams compete in the 2017 Maine State Indoor Championship next weekend. The women's championship will take place at University of Southern Maine on Friday evening (6:00 PM) while men's championship will be hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday (6:00 PM).
