SJC Women Compete in NCAA DIII New England Regional

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Members of the Saint Joseph's College women's indoor track & field team qualified for and competed in the 2017 NCAA DIII New England Regional Championship, which was hosted by MIT on Saturday.

A pair of team relay records fell in the regional event, as the Monks' 4x200 Meter Relay team, featuring Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine), Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine), Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.), and Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.), finished 15th with a 1:55.92 effort - two seconds better than the previous team best, and the SJC 4x800 Meter Relay team, comprised of Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine), Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.), Breann Sautter (Lisbon, Maine), and Curtin, was 21st with a 10:34.54 time - eight seconds faster than the previous mark.

Also, Bisset competed in the 60-Meter Hurdles trials and posted a 9.91 performance.

For the Monks, the regional event concludes the 2017 indoor season. The outdoor campaign begins March 25th at Bridgewater State University.
