WATERVILLE, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field teams competed in the Thomas College Invitational at Colby College on Saturday. The women won the event with 173 points while the men placed third with 105 points.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Junior Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) won the 100-meter dash (13.42) and 200-meter dash (28.14) events
  • Sophomore Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine) won the 5000-meter run (21:37.99)
  • Sophomore Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine) won the 100-meter hurdles (17.29)
  • Junior Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) won the 400-meter hurdles (1:20.51)
  • Freshman Emma Belyea (Caribou, Maine) placed first in the javelin throw (25.77m)
  • Freshman Shannon O'Malley (Turner, Maine) finished second in the 100-meter dash (13.88) and 200-meter dash (28.65)
  • Sophomore Breeann Sautter (Lisbon, Maine) placed second in the 400-meter dash (1:06.59)
  • Freshman Holly Moores (Rollinsford, N.H.) was second in the 5000-meter run (23:40.72)
  • Freshman Elesha Pratt (Poland, Maine) finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.98)
  • Freshman Marissa Hoffman (Harwood, Vt.) placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:21.58)
  • Junior Meghan Burke (Falmouth, Mass.) was second in the discus throw (29.88m)
  • Barrett, Bisset, O'Malley, and Smith won the 4x100-meter relay (53.93)
  • Analyse Harris (Windham, Maine), Sautter, Britney Theroux (Woonsocket, R.I.), and Hoffman won the 4x400-meter relay (5:04.01)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Junior Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) won the hammer throw with a new program-record 41.48-meter effort
  • Freshman Anthony Blatus (Dracut, Mass.) finished first in the javelin throw (44.33m)
  • Sophomore Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) placed second in the 400-meter dash (53.94)
  • Freshman Connor Rice (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) was second in the 800-meter run (2:14.99)
  • Freshman Brandon Whitlock (Westbrook, Maine) finished as the runner-up in the 1500-meter run (4:47.26)
  • Sophomore Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) was second in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:16.01)
  • Freshman William Blagys (Fairfield, Conn.) placed second in the hammer throw (38.59m)
  • Sophomore Ben Plante (Biddeford, Maine) was third in the 1500-meter run (4:52.97)
  • Senior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) finished third in the 5000-meter run (17:34.43)
  • Freshman Lance Santeusanio (North Berwick, Maine) placed third in the high jump (1.73m)
  • D'Ovidio, Alex Fitzgerald (Lebanon, Maine), Michael Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.), and Whitlock posted a new team record time (9:06.77) and finished second in the 4x800-meter relay

NEXT!

Next Saturday, the SJC men will compete in the Maine State Championship while the women will participate in the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin College.
