STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College Women's Volleyball Head Coach Jon Roberts has announced that Sarah Marckoon has been hired as an assistant coach.
With over 10 years of playing experience and five years of coaching under her belt, Marckoon will be asked to help usher in a new era of women's volleyball at Saint Joseph's as Coach Roberts, who was named as the Monks' skipper earlier this summer, looks to build a perennial conference contender.
Marckoon comes to the Shores of Sebago after serving as an assistant varsity coach at South Portland High School since 2015 and as a head coach for the Maine Juniors Volleyball Club out of Saco, Maine since November of 2017.
She has also served stints as an assistant coach at Windham High School (two years) and as a coach for the BOOM Volleyball club team (two years), which is located in Cumberland, Maine.
"I am very excited to have Coach Marckoon join the Saint Joseph's College volleyball program," adds Coach Roberts. "Her knowledge and passion for the game will have an immediate impact on the culture in our gym."
Marckoon earned her Forensic Accounting/MBA, with a Minor in Psychology, from Thomas College in 2013.
Saint Joseph's kicks off the 2018 season with a non-conference match at University of New England on Friday, August 31st. Opening service is slated for 8:00 PM.
