Monks Split GNAC Tri-Match

PAXTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (6-12, 3-4 GNAC) split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball doubleheader at Anna Maria College on Saturday. The Monks opened with a 3-0 loss to Lasell College (9-12, 6-2 GNAC) and swept the host-AMCATS (3-15, 0-5 GNAC) to salvage the split.

LASELL 3, SAINT JOSEPH'S 0 (25-11. 25-7, 25-21)

The Monks struggled at the net with their lowest attack percentage (-.044) of the season – with 21 kills and 26 errors in 114 attempts - in the shutout setback. Down 2-0, St. Joe's attempted a comeback but ultimately fell short in a 25-21 third-set loss.

  • Kiana Perez posted a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs
  • Olivia Addington tallied 10 kills and 10 digs
  • Jess Langan added 24 assists and 12 digs
  • Allie Jo Amos chipped in with 15 digs

SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, ANNA MARIA 0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-14)

The Monks rebounded with a convincing three-set win as the visitors never trailed en route to improving to 3-4 in conference play.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Senior Sarah Dyer (Seabrook, N.H.) tallied eight kills, 14 assists, two aces, seven digs, and three block assists
  • Bickford totaled seven kills and 10 digs
  • Olson added seven kills and five block assists
  • Freshman Olivia Kent (Ellington, Conn.) posted seven kills
  • Thompson notched 23 digs

LEADERS – ANNA MARIA:

  • Megan Drew registered five kills and 18 digs
  • Julia Ramos recorded 10 assists and seven digs
  • Sarah Lathrop posted four kills and 12 digs

Saint Joseph's is off until Thursday when the team plays at University of New England in a 6:00 PM non-conference match.
