STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (2-11, 1-1 GNAC) won both ends of a split tri-match at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday. The Monks opened with a 3-2 victory over GNAC-rival Colby-Sawyer College (7-9, 1-1 GNAC) and capped the day with a 3-1 triumph over Husson University (4-11). Husson defeated Colby-Sawyer by a 3-0 margin in the middle match.
For the Monks, the two-game set marked the team's 2019 home debut.
SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, COLBY-SAWYER 2 (25-14, 24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 16-14)
The Monks battled through 19 tie scores and 10 lead changes and boasted a season-high 18 service aces to register their first win of the 2019 campaign.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Junior Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) posted a .357 attack percentage with 12 kills on 28 attempts with six total blocks
- Sophomore Olivia Kent (Ellington, Conn.) tallied nine kills, seven aces, and eight digs
- Sophomore Sarah Quinn (Dover, N.H.) added 12 kills, three aces, 10 digs, and five total blocks
- Sophomore Nicole Baron (Derry, N.H.) registered a .400 attack rate with seven kills in 15 bids with three aces
- Freshman Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) notched 34 assists, 14 digs, four kills, and three aces
- Senior Kelsey Bickford (Somersworth, N.H.) added eight kills
- Junior Madison Provencher (Rochester, N.H.) chipped in with 17 digs

- Rebecca Straubel delivered a match-high 15 kills with three aces and nine digs
- Naarah Cox contributed 11 kills and nine digs
- Anna Allen dealt 39 assists with 15 digs
- Morgan Flynn posted 24 digs
SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, HUSSON 1 (23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-23)
The Eagles kicked off the finale with a 25-23 triumph, but the Monks responded with three hotly-contested victories to notch their second-consecutive win. St. Joe's tallied season-high totals in kills (53) and assists in the conquest.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Olson recorded a career-high 15 kills with a .323 attack rate
- Holden notched an impressive triple-double with 10 kills, 32 assists, and 13 digs
- Bickford netted 10 kills and seven digs
- Provencher contributed 21 digs and five assists
- Quinn added six kills, five assists, three digs, and five total blocks
LEADERS – HUSSON:
- Cheyenne Young led the Eagles with eight kills and added seven digs
- Hanna Hembrow posted 33 assists and 11 digs
- Amber Lemay and Adrienne Beatty added 10 digs apiece
