Holden Selected as GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman setter Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Holden helped lead the Monks to a 3-1 week with 125 assists, 43 digs, 19 kills, and six aces over four matches. In a convincing 3-1 triumph over Husson, the freshman setter boasted a .909 attack rate with an impressive triple-double with 10 kills, 32 assists, and 13 digs. She capped the weekend with a career-high 45 assists in a four-set win over UMaine-Fort Kent. For the week, Holden averaged 7.81 assists per set.

Through 14 matches, Holden has tallied 271 assists, 88 digs, 32 kills, and 12 service aces. She currently ranks seventh in the conference in total assists and 10th in assists per set (5.53).

Holden is the first Saint Joseph's volleyball player to claim GNAC Rookie of the Week honors since Jennelle Thompson earned the award on November 2nd, 2015.

Saint Joseph's (3-11, 1-1 GNAC) will host Plymouth State University tonight at 7:00 PM.
