Dostie Earns 12th Career GNAC Weekly Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The GNAC weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the 12th time in her career.

Dostie led the Monks with a 19:36 effort and placed ninth out of 140 runners in the University of New England Invitational on Saturday. Her time counts as the fastest ever recorded by a Saint Joseph's female runner at UNE and the sixth-best of her well-established collegiate career. The effort, Dostie's seventh sub-20 time, ranks as the eighth fastest performance in program history.

A three-time GNAC Runner of the Year honoree, Dostie earned three conference top runner honors as a freshman, four as a sophomore and four as a junior. She also claimed a trio of weekly rookie awards and collected GNAC Rookie of the Year accolades as a freshman in the fall of 2011.

Saint Joseph's will race at UMass.-Dartmouth this coming Saturday.
