Quirion Claims Second Team All-Conference Honors

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College sophomore Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine) collected All-Conference honors by virtue of her top-14 finish in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship, which was held at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island on Saturday, October 28th.

Quirion, a first-year member of the cross country team as a sophomore, placed 14th out of 99 participants with a 20:50 time in the conference championship en route to garnering Second Team All-GNAC accolades.

The sophomore standout enjoyed a memorable debut season and placed as the Monks' top finisher in five of the team's seven events this fall. Quirion displayed considerable improvement as the year wore on, as she posted a 23:25 time in her first collegiate event – the UMaine-Farmington Invitational on September 2nd – and ran over three minutes faster with 20:50 performances in the Maine State Championship (10/14) and GNAC Championship (10/28).

Quirion also shaved over two minutes off her 6K time during the season, with a 27:29 effort at the Purple Valley Classic on September 23rd and a 25:12 time in the NCAA DIII New England Championship on November 11th.
