Please share some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field:

MICHELLE: I always loved pre-season with our team/family at school before anyone else arrived. Soccer outings to mini-golf/ pasta dinners/parties with our "big sisters" and the way we battled on the field and pushed each other to the max but off the field we were family/sisters. I loved being able to play college soccer with my sister, Jenny. We played in high school and it was a great tradition to keep playing together in college. We played together one year, my senior year, which was her freshman year. Jenny took over my #14 jersey after I graduated and I loved that! We are the best of best friends and I was so glad to experience college with her for a short time. I loved everything about SJC. The friendships I made have lasted a lifetime and I received a wonderful education that has helped me get to where I am now. Coach Bolanz was not only a strategic, hard-working, dedicated coach, but he also "got" us girls. He made sure we were happy, healthy, going to classes, and training hard. He helped build the foundation for such wonderful friendships and team chemistry that was undeniable. Probably one of my favorite and unforgettable soccer/SJC moments was during my senior year when we earned a bid to the ECAC tournament and we were playing at Smith College. It was my 21st birthday and we spent the entire day on a bus, then playing in an emotional and competitive game in a monsoon of rain. We could ring our shorts and shirts out.... that is how soaked we were. We lost but we left everything on that field. My dad came to watch and some other friends from home. The ride home wasn't that bad but when I got back to my suite I was greeted with "SURPRISE!" All of my suitemates decorated the place and there were gifts and cards…needless to say, we had a good night! :-)

JENNY: My favorite SJC memories would be being able to go to the same college with my older sister, Michelle. She was a senior when I was a freshman. It was awesome to get to play soccer with her there. I made some amazing friends at SJC who I will be best friends with forever. Senior week was an unforgettable week with all the activities we did. Playing soccer and being part of a team in college was a memorable experience. Your teammates are like your family as you spend a lot of your time with them. Spring fling weekend was always awesome. I enjoyed all the soccer games that I played at SJC. My nursing classes and professors are all things I will never forget as they helped me fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse and got me where I am today.

Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):

MICHELLE: As a soccer player at SJC I was part of a number of championship teams. My sophomore and junior years (2004/2005) we won the NCAA DIII Northeast Region Independent Championship. During two seasons we received bids to play in the ECAC tournament. I received an award for Goal of the Year in 2006. I believe the goal was scored against Colby College at SJC. It was a volley that went between the goalie’s hands as she jumped up. I can remember it like it was yesterday. We still lost but that moment made the whole game for our team! At one time I was named Athlete of the Week and was also named to the Independent Championships All-Star Team.

JENNY: Who’s Who of American College Students Award, Spring 2009; Academic All Conference Award, 2008, 2009; ECAC Tournament appearance in 2006 and 2007; GNAC tournament appearances…

Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:

MICHELLE: Currently I am working as a second grade teacher at Baldwin Consolidated School in SAD #55. This year I have 20 second graders who are constantly challenging me and keeping me on my toes. I not only get to teach them but they teach me things every day. Although extremely taxing at times, I love my job! I have been working for SAD #55 for the past two years, both years I have taught second grade. I feel very fortunate to be teaching with such wonderful colleagues and in such a close knit community. This particular school is special because it only has one of each grade level. We are a very small school where every teacher knows every student’s name and vice versa. Baldwin is such a wonderful place to be!

JENNY: I am currently employed at Mass General Hospital for Children at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA. I am a Pediatric Nurse on a general Med/Surg pediatric floor. I work 40 hours/week. I absolutely love taking care of children and helping them and their families cope with their illnesses. It's a very rewarding job. My goal is to focus in on Pediatric Oncology nursing once I get more experience.

Please tell us about your family, if applicable:

MICHELLE: My family members reside in Massachusetts. My greatest supporters (my parents) Robert and Joanne Crisp live in Dedham, MA where I grew up and attended high school. My dad is retired from Verizon Communications and my mom currently works as a secretary at Needham Pediatrics in Needham, MA. My sister, Jenny, currently lives in Dedham, MA with my parents and is working as a pediatric nurse at North Shore Hospital. My brother, Jeff, resides in Quincy, MA with his soon to be wife Elena Snyder. Jeff works for Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston and Elena is currently attending BC, working on a special degree in Social Work. I live in Gorham, ME with my fiancé David Hakes. Dave also attended St. Joe's, where we met. He played soccer from his sophomore through senior year. We have been together for just about six years and will be tying the knot on October 5, 2013! We couldn't be more excited!

JENNY: I have the best Mom and Dad a girl could ever ask for. I also have an older brother, Jeffrey (30), who is getting married May 26 to an amazing woman, Lena. Jeff lives in Quincy. I have an older sister, Michelle (27), who lives in Gorham, ME. She is a 2nd grade teacher and also attended St. Joes. She was a senior when I was a freshman. Michelle is getting married October 6th to a St. Joe’s grad, and wonderful man, David Hakes. My family and I are very close and I am very fortunate.

What do you do for fun?

MICHELLE: Typically you can find me hanging with my friends (most of whom attended St. Joe’s). We often have game nights. I visit MA often to spend time with my family. I love anything that gets me outside! Dave and I go for walks, play in a coed soccer league, play tennis (we're pretty bad), bike, go to the beach, occasionally play Mario on the Wii, and snowshoe in the winter. To continue my competitive nature I run/cross-train most days. Currently I am training for the Tri for a Cure Triathlon. This will be my 4th time competing in the Tri. The only thing different about this year is that I am doing it as a relay instead of competing individually.

JENNY: I enjoy running outside and staying fit in the gym. I have the most amazing friends to hang out with when I am not working. I like going on road trips, skiing, going to the beach in the summer, shopping, relaxing at home and spending quality time with my incredible family. I also enjoy raising money for charities. I just ran in the Boston Marathon this year as a member of the Mass General Marathon Team, "Fighting Kids Cancer...One Step at a Time." I raised over $5000 for this cause.
