What are some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field?

Field Hockey: Flying V, Running the ManU Test, Trip to Jamaica and learning more about Coach Rupert's hometown. Preseason might have been my favorite time of the year (practice, eat, lake, practice, lunch, nap, practice, dinner, sleep....can't get better than that!). Basketball: GNAC Championship, Trip to California, Decorating Locker Room. Being the only people on campus over winter break. Getting our awesome blue wind suits and sweat suits each year! Softball: Going down to the softball field to hit outside of practice with teammates, Dancing before the games, walk-up songs. Picking up rocks off the field due to Coach Bailey's request. Finding a church to attend on Sunday's when we were away with Coach, family and sometimes even teammates came along. Others: NCAA tournaments for basketball and softball, having unbelievable fans from the community that knew all the players and athletes on campus. Watching friends kick butt at their sporting events and having them come to ours. Postgame dinners at Pats Pizza with teammates, families, and friends. Celebrating when other teams won Championships!

Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):

One of the finest athletes in the history of Saint Joseph's College Athletics, Hendrix earned a total of 38 academic and athletic accolades – including the 2015 GNAC Woman of the Year honor – while starring for the Monks on the field, hardwood and diamond. In the three sports combined, Hendrix played in a grand total of 314 games over 12 seasons, helping her teams post a collective 256-96 (.727) overall record with a 142-32 (.816) mark in conference play along with 12 conference tournament appearances. She competed in a conference championship contest for six different teams with four GNAC Championships and four NCAA Tournament berths.

During her three-sport athletic career, Hendrix claimed nine academic awards, five all-conference honors and three regional accolades and was selected as the conference player of the week on 10 occasions. She was named as the 2014 GNAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year and also earned 2015 Capital One Academic NCAA DIII Softball District 1 All-Academic honors.

Hendrix was also chosen as the 2014 Saint Joseph's College Athletics Female Athlete of the Year, earned a total of four First Team All-GNAC honors, and collected 2014 First Team National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region and 2015 First Team ECAC Softball All-New England acclaim.

A three-year team captain for the Monks' field hockey program and two-year captain for the SJC softball team, Hendrix played an integral role on four GNAC Championship teams – three for softball (2012, 2013, 2014) and one for basketball (2014). For her efforts during postseason play, she earned a total of six All-Tournament honors and was chosen as the 2012 GNAC Softball Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:

I am currently employed at Westbrook Middle School as a Health Teacher, teaching grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. I am in my 5th year of teaching. I love being able to work with youth and helping them learn the skills they can use outside of the classroom. I am blessed to be able to coach the sports that I loved to play. I coached field hockey for four years at Westbrook High School. This past year I coached Varsity Field Hockey at my Alma Marta Cheverus High School, where I have also coached Varsity Softball for three years. I have also been an assistant basketball coach at Portland High School.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I like to hang out with my dog Mr. Melvin Bean, run road races with my mom and friends, go to the gym, hike, and bike ride in the summer!
