Please share some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field:
My junior year, we played in a tournament in New York. We didn't have the greatest outcomes on the court but we made the most of New York.
Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):
The basketball teams I played on worked hard and we posted winning seasons for most of my years at SJC. Individually, I was selected to the All-Tournament team of the Paul Bunyan Tournament at Husson College. I loved hanging out with my friends and doing various activities.
Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:
Upon graduating from Saint Joseph’s, I moved to Korea and taught English out there for five years and during those years I traveled out to Thailand on a couple of occasions as well as Japan. In March of 2012 I joined an over-landing truck and traveled throughout 25 different African countries for seven-plus months. I decided to end my travels early in Africa to volunteer for Soft Power Education, an NGO based in Jinja, Uganda. I volunteered in their Special Education Needs program, where I assisted with integrating students as well as teaching sustainable life skills. I currently work for Creative Work Systems as the Residential Service Coordinator. I write Person Centered Plans for individuals who we provide services for.
What do you do for fun?
I love traveling to different countries and learning about all the different cultures, the history, interacting with locals as well as immersing myself into their culture. I have recently bungee jumped at Victoria Falls (365ft) on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Trekking mountain gorillas was extraordinary; my group was charged by two silverback gorillas. We left Bwindi Forest with our hearts racing at a fast pace!
