STANDISH, Maine – The 13th Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame class has been announced. Stephen Chase ’93, Robert Doyle, Billie L’Heureux ’91 and Joe Manganaro ’05 comprise the 2015 class and will be inducted in a ceremony to be held on Saturday, September 12th at 6:30 PM.
Stephen Chase ‘93, a four-year standout for the Monks’ men’s basketball program from Walpole, Massachusetts, scored 1,538 points with 448 rebounds, 137 assists and 111 steals and helped lead Saint Joseph’s to a pair of NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances during his time on the hardwood. At the time of his induction, Chase remains as the Monks’ all-time leader in three-point field goals made (311) and attempted (835) and currently ranks seventh in points.
Robert "Bobby" Doyle, a North Yarmouth, Maine native, served as an assistant coach for the Saint Joseph's College baseball program for 12 seasons (1993-04) and helped lead St. Joe's to five NAIA New England championships, four Maine Athletic Conference (MAC) crowns and an NAIA New England Regional championship and subsequent NAIA Super Regional Tournament appearance in 2002. An outstanding baseball player before joining the coaching ranks, Doyle passed away in 2005 and was posthumously inducted into the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011.
Billie L’Heureux ’91, from South Portland, Maine, was a terrific player for the Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball program and helped lead the Monks to four Western Maine Athletic Conference Championships, three NAIA National Tournament appearances, two NAIA Northeast titles and a pair of NAIA New England crowns during her four seasons. She collected All-District, All-State and All-Conference accolades her junior and senior years and tallied 1,195 points, 671 rebounds and 130 steals over 104 career games and remains as the Monks’ all-time leader in field goal percentage (54.0%).
Joe Manganaro ’05, who hails from Gorham, Maine, is the first golfer to enter the Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame. The only player in St. Joe’s golf history to earn All-New England acclaim, Manganaro still owns the Monks’ top career 18-hole (74.4) and 36-hole (153.0) averages. In two seasons at Saint Joseph’s, Manganaro won three events and finished in the top 10 in 16 of 18 tournaments overall.
The cost to attend ceremony is $30 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 12. The reception, held in the Hall of Fame Room in the Alfond Center, begins at 5:00 PM with the induction ceremony, held at Pearson’s Café, to follow.

Founded in 2000, the Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Hall of Fame honors past athletes, faculty, staff and friends who, through their actions, have brought distinction through athletics to themselves and to Saint Joseph’s College.
