STANDISH, ME - Sophomore Miles Johnson (Berwick, ME) (3-0) fanned seven and allowed only four hits as Saint Joseph's College defeated Husson 3-1 last night.
A first inning 2-RBI triple by sophomore Charlie Furbush (South Portland, ME) helped the Monks secure the win. Senior captain Ben Muniz (Readfield, ME) doubled to score freshman Wade Oliver (Owls Head, ME) prior to the hit by Furbush.
The Eagles scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Sean Brawn.
Furbush faced and struck out one batter in the sixth to earn his fourth save of the season and Keith Nason struck out 4 and took the loss for Husson.
The Monks host USM on 4/27 at 5:00 p.m.
