The native of Lawrence, Massachusetts played his high school
ball at Central Catholic High School for Marc Pelletier and won the
Coaches Award as a senior. Chris is a crafty lefty who has the
control to paint the corners of the plate and the ability to keep
hitters off balance with his off-speed pitches.
As a freshman for St. Joe's Chris emerged as one of the top
pitchers on the Monks staff and a real asset out of the bullpen. As
he worked his way toward becoming one of the team's top relievers,
Chris posted a 4.45 era in 32 innings of work with a 2-0 record
with one save. Look for Chris to be Coach Sanborn's go-to guy out
of the pen in 2009.
Chris is the son of Gina and Kenneth Dion of Lawrence,
Massachusetts.
