Eric joined the Monks after playing for Coach Jerry Lachance at Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH. The speedy outfielder had an outstanding high school career and was named to the All-State Team as a sophomore, junior and senior after hitting well over .400 each year. Eric won the Golden Bat Award as a junior when he led the New Hampshire Class L division with a .474 batting average. As a senior Eric was named to the Fosters Dream Team.

Eric had a nice freshman year for SJC, batting .283 with 13 RBI while playing well in the outfield. Look for Eric to make the move to center field and bat in the heart of the order in 2009.

Eric is the son of Lisa and Dennis LaBatte of Rochester, New Hampshire.
