John McGlinn was hired as an assistant baseball coach during the summer of 2012. 

Upon graduation from Husson University, Coach McGlinn was hired as the bullpen catcher for the Columbus Clippers, the Triple A team for the New York Yankees. After returning to Maine, he worked as an assistant coach for his alma mater and has also served as an assistant for the Lincoln Lumber and Hampden River Dogs American Legion Baseball teams.

For the past few years, McGlinn has worked as a baseball instructor for The Edge Academy, which was formerly known as Frozen Ropes. He is the stepson of Brian Butterfield, who currently serves as the third base coach for the Boston Red Sox.

Coach McGlinn and his wife Kiera reside in Standish with their three children, Madison, Mason and Grace.
