WATERVILLE, ME – Saint Joseph's (9-4, 7-0 NAC) fell to Colby College (4-8, 1-7 NESCAC) by a 2-0 score in a non-conference field hockey contest on Tuesday evening. Monks netminder Meaghan Johnson '12 (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) recorded 18 saves in the loss.

Hannah O'Brien (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) scored 11:57 into the game after Johnson made back to back saves. Courtney Erskine (Turner, Maine) was credited with an assist on the play after pushing a rebound to O'Brien for the score.

Sally Klose (McLean, Va.) provided the Mules with some much-needed breathing room after Johnson continued to keep the Monks in the game with some outstanding stops. Natalie Fischer (Freeland, Md.) recorded an assist on the Klose tally, which was scored at the 48:00 mark.

Colby goaltender Michelle Burt (Woodridge, Conn.) had three saves for her second shutout of the season. For Johnson, the 18 saves ranks as a season-high.

Colby held sizeable advantages in both shots (27-6) and penalty corners (10-5) in the non-conference meeting.

With the loss, Saint Joseph's falls to 1-13 in the history of the series with Colby College. The Mules have now topped the Monks in four consecutive meetings.
