WESTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (6-0, 2-0 GNAC) toppled Regis College (1-4, 1-1 GNAC), 9-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.
SUMMARY
Six different SJC players scored and Kayla Kelly (York, Maine), Kara Kelly (York, Maine) and Meghan Hill (Brookline, N.H.) netted a pair apiece to help the Monks remain undefeated on the season.
For St. Joe's, the 6-0 start is second only to the 8-0 opening the 2013 squad registered en route to posting a 15-4 overall record.
THE KEEPERS
All three of the Monks' goalies logged minutes in the lopsided victory, as senior Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) did not face a shot in the first half, sophomore Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.) was untested in 16:09 minutes of relief, and freshman Izzy Anton (Mount Vernon, N.H.), making her collegiate debut, turned away the only shot she faced in 18:51 minutes between the pipes.
For Regis, Hope Winkin (Winslow, Maine) made 11 saves and Erin Moore (Rosedale, Md.) was credited with four saves in relief.
TEAM STATS
Saint Joseph's held considerable advantages in shots (33-2), shots on goal (25-1), and penalty corners (21-2) on the afternoon.
NOTEWORTHY
- Freshman Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) scored a goal with three assists
- Junior Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) added a goal and an assist
- The nine-goal tally is the most the Monks have scored in GNAC play since the Royal Blue defeated Mount Ida by the same score on October 11th, 2014
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 8-7 in the history of the series with Regis College and has now defeated the Pride in four-consecutive meetings by a collective 30-0 score.

Saint Joseph's returns to action tomorrow when the team hosts perennial mid-Atlantic powerhouse Kean University in a 12:00 PM start. Kean handed the Monks a 6-0 loss in New Jersey last fall and advanced to the third round of the NCAA DIII Tournament in 2017.
Regis is back in action Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they take on Dean College in a 7 p.m. match at Regis Stadium.
