Belaire & Simpson Honored by GNAC

STANDISH, Maine – The first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades of the 2019 fall season have been announced and a pair of Saint Joseph's College field hockey players have been honored.

Juniors Alexandra Belaire (Greene, Maine) and Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.) have been named as the GNAC Field Hockey Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.

Belaire earns the third GNAC weekly honor of her career after scoring both of the Monks' goals in a 2-1 victory at Wellesley College on Sunday.

Simpson opened her first year as a starter by turning away 11 of 12 shots in a 2-1 victory against Skidmore College. This performance was followed by four stops in a 2-1 win at Wellesley College. Simpson posted a .882 save percentage with a 1.00 goals against average over 120 minutes.

Saint Joseph's (2-0) will play at Husson University on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
