Caron Leads Field at USM Fall Classic

GORHAM, ME – Saint Joseph's freshman Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) leads a field of 49 golfers with a one-under-par 70 card after the first day of the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic at the Gorham Country Club on Sunday.

Saint Joseph's currently sits in fourth place with a 311 card behind UMass.-Dartmouth (300), Husson (301) and Southern Maine (302). Endicott College (311), Saint Anselm's College (320), University of New England (326), Emmanuel College (329) and University of Maine-Farmington (339) are also competing in this year's tournament, which continues on Monday with an 11:00 AM tee-time.

Caron, who currently sits one stroke ahead of Brendan Kelleher of UMass.-Dartmouth, leads an SJC quintet that includes sophomore Ryan Berard (Millville, Mass.) (78), senior Kevin Richardson (Coventry, Conn.) (81), senior Jake Brown (Lewiston, Maine) (82) and senior Colin Finn (North Easton, Mass.) (84).
