Monks Finish Eighth at Bowdoin Invite

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College placed eighth with a 643 (321-322) team card in the Bowdoin College Invitational at Brunswick Country Club over the weekend. Freshman Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) led the Monks with a 153 (79-74) score and finished 12th overall in the annual event.

For the Monks, junior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) placed 30th with a 160 (82-78) card, senior Ryan Berard (Millville, Mass.) finished 32nd (161, 78-83), freshman Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) was 47th (169, 82-87) and sophomore Brandon Labrecque (Gorham, Maine) shot a 177 (89-88) to place 53rd.

Endicott College claimed top team honors with a 607 (307-300) aggregate score, seven strokes ahead of Southern Maine, which finished as the runner-up with a 612 (307-305) card. Saint Anselm's was third (612, 308-304) and Providence College rounded out the top five with a 614 (300-314) score.

Husson's Greg Martin earned medalist honors with a 145 (70-75) card, two strokes ahead of Southern Maine's Tom Murray (147, 75-72) and Saint Anselm's Tad Link (147, 74-73). Alex Jenkins of Providence College was fourth (148, 73-75) and Endicott's Ben Palazzo closed out the top five with a 150 (75-75) card.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this weekend with an appearance in the two-day State of Maine Championship, which will be played at Fairlawn Golf Club in Poland, Maine.
