Saint Joseph's in Second Place After 18 Holes at State Championship

POLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's College finished the opening 18 holes of the 2015 Maine State Championship in second place with a 300 team card at Fairlawn Golf & Country Club on Saturday. Freshman Cameron Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) shot an even-par 72 and ended the first round in a tie for second individually.

University of Southern Maine leads the group of 11 Maine colleges and universities with a 296 card and Husson's Daulton Wickenden shot a four-under 68 to lead the group of 55 players.

For the Monks, freshman Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) shot a 73, senior Ryan Berard (Millville, Mass.) posted a 76 card, junior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) carded a 79, and freshman Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) rounded out the SJC quintet with an 80 score.
