BREWSTER, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College sits in fifth place after the first 18 holes at the 2015 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Course on Sunday. Junior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) currently leads the Monks with a three-over-par 75 card and is tied for ninth out of 110 NCAA DIII golfers.

For the Monks, freshman Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) shot a 77 (T-15), first-year Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) posted a 78 (T-26) and senior Ryan Berard (Millville, Mass.) carded an 82 (T-60). Senior Jason Riley (Dedham, Mass.) rounded out the SJC quintet with an 89 (T-92).

Babson College leads the group of 22 New England institutions with a 305, while Rhode Island College sits in second (307) and Johnson & Wales University and Nichols College are tied for third with 308 team cards.

Individually, Zachary Temple of Castleton State paces the field with a 70, two strokes ahead of Babson's Pranav Mohan. Paul Butkevich (UNE), Steve Letterle (RIC) and Greg Martin (Husson) are currently tied for third with 73 scores.

Plays concludes tomorrow at The Captains Golf Course. The weather looks favorable – high 40's, partly cloudy with no chance of rain.
