Caron's 18th-Hole Birdie Putt Lifts Monks to One Stroke Victory

WATERVILLE, Maine – Saint Joseph's College posted a 299 team card to win the Maine-Farmington Invitational Championship, for the second-consecutive season, at the Waterville Country Club on Wednesday.

THE LEAD

Knowing the score would be close and every shot counts, senior captain Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) came through for his team by sinking a birdie putt on the 18th hole, a shot that – unbeknownst to him – would ultimately lift the Monks to victory. Maine-Farmington finished right behind Saint Joseph's with a 300 team card.
