Golfers Place Eighth at Bowdoin College Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College finished eighth with a 655 team score in the Bowdoin College Invitational at Brunswick Country Club over the weekend. Junior Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) paced the Monks and finished in a tie for ninth with a 157 (79-78) card.

Saint Joseph's sat in second place overall through the first 18 holes after shooting a 315 with three individuals carding a 79 or better on Saturday, but the Monks slid six spots in the team rankings with a 340 card Sunday.

Junior Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) finished in a tie for 27th with a 164 (75-89), junior Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) was 30th (165, 78-87), sophomore Tyler Johnson (Windham, Maine) tied for 37th (170, 83-87), and sophomore Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) tied for 45th (173, 85-88).

Featuring four individuals in the top 12 – including Medalist Stephen Hunt (144, 72-72), St. Anselm cruised to the victory with a 603 (303-300) team score, 22 strokes ahead of runner-up Endicott College (625, 318-307).

Saint Joseph's returns to the links on Wednesday when the team plays in the UMaine-Farmington Invitational at Waterville Country Club.
