STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College freshman point guard Ian Mileikis (Auburn, Maine) has been selected as the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Rookie of the Week.
Mileikis earns the first weekly award of his career after averaging 11.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in two contests for the Monks last week. The first-year starter netted a career-high 18 points and was 7-8 from the field in a loss to Anna Maria College on Saturday.
Through seven games, Mileikis is averaging 6.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 55.6% (15-27) from the floor and 70% (14-20) from the free throw line.
Saint Joseph's (3-4, 0-2 GNAC) will play at Mount Ida College tonight in a GNAC matchup slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
