Saint Joseph’s College alum William Armishaw, who played a role in 73 wins over four years as a Student Assistant, was named assistant men's basketball coach prior to the start of the 2015-16 season.

"We are truly excited to keep William around Saint Joseph’s College," said Sanicola, also an SJC graduate. "He will be great for our student-athletes because he understands what we want and how we want it done here at St. Joe’s."

Armishaw graduated from Saint Joseph’s College in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration. Saint Joseph’s posted a 73-37 record (.663) during his four seasons on the bench.

In his time as a Student Assistant, the Monks made a pair of GNAC Championship appearances with two postseason stints that fell short in the conference semifinal. His ability to scout opponents helped the Monks lead the conference in scoring defense in three of his four years.

In his first season with the Monks (2010-11), Armishaw helped guide St. Joe’s to its highest conference finish with an appearance in the GNAC Championship game for the second time since entering the league in 2008.

During his four years as Student Assistant at St. Joe’s, Armishaw worked with six All-Conference players, including two-time All-GNAC honorees Zach O’Brien ’12 and Matt Medeiros ’14.

“Will possesses a great passion for the sport of basketball and the development of our players,” adds Sanicola. “He has had a hand in the program’s success over the last four years and continues to motivate and find ways to make each player better on and off the court.”
