Year: 2nd Season

Scot Vachon is in his second year on the Monks coaching staff, but is certainly no stranger to the Royal Blue. A three-year starter during his four years on “The Lake”, he brings his knowledge, enthusiasm, work ethic, and competitiveness to the bench in assisting Coach Sanicola. He is heavily involved in recruiting as well as player development and has a myriad of in-game duties. Scot immediately became involved in the Monks program after graduation, and will have a great opportunity to inject his knowledge of the Monks system to the eleven newcomers this season.

Vachon was a pivotal player during the Monks’ GNAC Championship run in 2009 and was named as the Tournament Most Valuable Player. He averaged 4.6 points, 3.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 97 career games while donning the Royal Blue and is listed among the program’s all-time leaders in assists (365) and steals (153).

Scot, a native of Schenectady, New York, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Teacher Preparation. He currently is getting his Master of Science in Education at Saint Joseph’s College.
