2013 Men's Soccer Alumni Game a Success

2013 Men's Soccer Alumni Game a Success

STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College men's soccer program held its annual alumni game on Sunday, September 29th and the exhibition will likely be remembered as the most successful alumni match to date.

A large number of former players attended the event, as 22 alumni returned to participate. The format of the contest featured the 'old-timers' versus the current players and the match – tied after 90 minutes -was decided after a round of sudden-victory kicks. Paul Robins '11 notched the game winner on a cheeky chip shot up the middle while the goalkeeper mistakenly dove to his right. Jeff Yaeger '04, the alumni keeper and current goalkeeping coach for both SJC soccer programs, preserved the victory with a save on a Ryan Gallagher (Casper, Wyo.) attempt.

Thank you to all who attended – we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
