PROVIDENCE, RI – Johnson & Wales University (11-1-3, 4-1-2 GNAC) toppled Saint Joseph's College (10-4-2, 6-1-0 GNAC), 4-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats recorded the first and only goal of the first half when junior O'Kyle Corridon (Selden, N.Y.) converted a penalty kick with 4:15 left in the stanza to give JWU the one goal lead. JWU held a 7-5 advantage in shots heading into the locker room at halftime.

One minute and sixteen seconds into the second half freshman Brandon Davidson (Allen, Texas) sent a crossing pass in front of the net that Corridon tipped to junior transfer Doug Kase (Clifton, N.J.) and Kase buried his shot into the back of the net. Sophomore Drew Lightfoot (Philadelphia, Pa.) gave JWU the 3-0 lead at the 77:08 mark when Corridon led him to a one vs. two opportunity and Lightfoot blasted a shot past the diving keeper. The fourth and final goal came from freshman Xavier Carty (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) with under four minutes left to play to secure the 4-0 victory for the Wildcats.

Junior Ryan Dzierzawski (Oakland, Mich.) made five saves in the shutout win for the Wildcats while Scott Benner (Post Falls, Idaho) had four stops in net for the Monks.

The Monks are off until next Thursday when the Royal Blue play host to GNAC-rival Mount Ida College at 3:30 PM. The Wildcats play at Albertus Magnus College at 3:30 PM on Wednesday.
