Overview:  

Will Pike '11 was named as the head coach of the Monks' men's soccer program in January of 2019.

Pike ascended to the head coaching position after serving as an assistant at Saint Joseph's for five years (2012, 2015-18). He was the head assistant and goalkeeper coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2018, helping lead the two sides to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships that fall. 

Pike also worked as the Director of Goalkeeping at Seacoast United for five years (2013-17) and holds the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "C" Coaching License. He gained additional collegiate coaching experience as an assistant coach at Husson University in 2013.

"I am thrilled to be named as the next head coach of the Saint Joseph's College men's soccer program," adds Pike. "Having been part of the Saint Joseph's community for over a decade as a student-athlete and assistant coach, I know firsthand how special this institution is and I am excited to become a full-time member of the athletics staff."

During his time as an assistant coach for the SJC men's soccer program, Pike helped the Monks win three-consecutive GNAC Championships with an incredible cumulative 55-3-8 (.833) record – including a 28-0-2 (.933) mark in conference play – from 2016 to 2018 and was a member of the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III New England Region Coaching Staff of the Year, along with former Head Coach Adrian Dubois, Michael Sanfilippo '12, and Kyle Shangraw '14.

As a college goalkeeper, Pike – a Gorham native - initially played for Mount St. Mary's University, an NCAA DI program in Maryland, for two years before transferring to Saint Joseph's, where he played two seasons (2008-09) and, upon graduation, had established new SJC career records for goals-against average (0.88), save percentage (.861), victories (26) and shutouts (19). He earned a pair of First Team All-Conference accolades and led the Monks to the program's first GNAC Championship in 2009.

Pike was inducted into the Saint Joseph's College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. He currently resides in Standish with his wife, Heidi. 

Past Seasons:

2022: Saint Joseph's posted a 13-5-1 overall record with an 11-1-0 mark in GNAC play during the 2022 season. As the top seed in the conference tournament the Monks blanked #8 Anna Maria College, 4-0, in a GNAC quarterfinal on October 29th, but the season ended abruptly three days later with a 2-0 loss at the hands of eventual conference champion University of Saint Joseph.

Following the regular season, eight Saint Joseph’s players garnered All-Conference honors, with senior Mike Sheridan (Folsom, PA.) claiming Goalkeeper of the Year honors. Making it the sixth-consecutive Goalkeeper of the Year award for the Monks. Graduate captain Austin Ward (Exeter, N.H.) earned Second Team All-Region I, while junior defender Will Wood (Franklin, N.H) received All-Region I Third Team.

2021: Coach Pike led the Monks to a 16-2-2 overall record with a 12-0-0 mark in conference play en route to earning the top seed in the GNAC Tournament. The Monks defeated #8 Colby-Sawyer (3-0) and #5 University of Saint Joseph (3-1) to advance to the GNAC Championship game for the fifth-consecutive season. St. Joe’s tipped #2 Norwich, 1-0 in double-overtime, in the league title bout on November 6th to earn the program’s sixth GNAC Crown.  With the GNAC’s automatic qualifier into the 2021 NCAA DIII National Tournament, Saint Joseph’s faced New York University in the opening round in a contest played at Connecticut College on November 13th. The Monks scored twice in the opening 18 minutes, but would ultimately fall short when NYU tied the game with just over a minute left and netted the winner with 39 seconds left in the first overtime to end the Monks' season.

Following the regular season, nine Saint Joseph’s players earned All-Conference honors, with Graduate defender Colin Grant (Harvard, Mass.) and graduate goalkeeper David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) claiming Defensive Player of the Year and, for the second-consecutive season, Walbridge claimed the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year honor. Rion Dos Santos (Falmouth, Maine) joined Grant and Walbridge on the First Team. Senior forwards Kuma Onyejose (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Austin Ward (North Andover, Mass.) and senior midfielders Kyle Cocciardi (Windham, N.H.) and Jackson Fotter (Gorham, Maine) collected Second Team acclaim. Graduate defender Noah Elmore (Berlin, Vt.) and senior back Michael Wildes (Winslow, Maine) were listed on the Third Team.

Grant received Region I Third Team Honors. 

2019: The Monks posted a 16-2-3 record – including a 9-0-2 mark in conference play – en route to earning the #2 seed in the GNAC Tournament in Coach Pike’s first season at the helm. The Monks advanced to the conference championship for the fourth-consecutive season with hard fought tournament wins over Emmanuel and Norwich, but their bid to claim a fourth-straight GNAC title were dashed in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to top-seeded Johnson & Wales University in the conference championship on Saturday, November 9th.

Following the regular season, eight Saint Joseph’s players earned All Conference honors, with Senior Noah Robinson (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and junior David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) being selected as the GNAC Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively. Seniors Mitchell Duncan (Sanford, Maine), Jackson Taylor (Gorham, Maine) and Noah Robinson (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and junior David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) have garnered First Team All-Conference honors while seniors Cody Elliott (Gorham, Maine) and Ryan Buonaiuto (Scituate, R.I.) were listed on the Second Team and sophomores Kuma Onyejose (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Austin Ward (North Andover, Mass.) claimed Third Team accolades.

Senior defender Noah Robinson (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) claimed First Team All-New England honors, senior midfielder Jackson Taylor (Gorham, Maine) claimed Second Team All-New England honors, and junior goalkeeper David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) received All-New England Third Team.

Noah Robinson earned the 2020 GNAC Co-Man of the Year Award.
