STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College swim teams posted a pair of victories over Gordon College at the Harold Alfond Center Pool on Saturday afternoon. The St. Joe's women posted a 112-94 win while the SJC men defeated the Fighting Scots by an 86-17 margin.
SENIOR MOMENT:
Prior to the start of the meet the Monks held a brief ceremony to recognize the program's three seniors: Julia Rowlett (Saco, Maine), Madison Bodine (China, Maine), and Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.). All three individuals are four-year members of the SJC swimming program.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Quinlan placed first in the 100-Breast (1:07.55), 50-Fly (26.27), and 100-IM (1:01.49) events
- Freshman Ryan Watson (Bangor, Maine) won the 200-Free (1:57.39) and 50-Back (34.31) and was second in the 500-Free (5:19.16)
- Freshman Nathan Landry (Derry, N.H.) won the 100-Fly (58.08) and 100-Free (55.54) and finished second in the 50-Fly (26.61)
- Freshman Joseph Nichols (Tyngsborough, Mass.) won the 100-Back (1:10.34) and placed third in the 200-Free (2:19.47)
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Rowlett won the 100-Back (1:14.27)
- Junior Alexis Coiley (Fort Fairfield, Maine) won the 200-Free (2:16.30) and 100-Free (1:02.59) and was second in the 500-Free (6:14.50)
- Junior Emily Roy (Sidney, Maine) won the 100-Fly (1:18.72) and finished as the runner-up in the 50-Back (33.45)
- Freshman Alirose Beauregard (Dover, N.H.) was the top finisher in the 50-Free (26.58) and 50-Fly (30.00)
- Freshman Hannah Kibbin (Augusta, Maine) won the 100-IM (1:01.49)
- Junior Autumn Nostrom (Lyman, Maine) was second in the 200-Free (2:25.19) and third in the 50-Free (29.12)
- Junior Hailey Bouyea (Lewiston, Maine) placed second in the 1000-Free (14:04.55) and 100-Breast (1:26.87) and third in the 50-Breast (40.48)
- Roy, Coiley, Beauregard, and Kibbin raced to victory with a 1:55.93 time in the 200-Free relay

The 2018-19 season concludes in two weeks when the Monks travel to the campus of MIT in Boston to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships. The event begins on Thursday, February 21st and finishes three days later.
