2019-20: As a freshman claimed the GNAC Rookie of the Week honor four times…during his first colligate meet on Oct. 4th against Colby-Sawyer College won the 500-Free (5:28.61) and was second in the 100-Fly (1:01.55)…won the 500-Free (5:28.61) and was second in the 100-Fly (1:01.55) vs. University of New England on Oct. 25th…at Elms College on Nov. 2nd placed first in the 200-Free (2:07.54), 100-Free (59.92) and 50-Fly (29.67) events...on Nov. 15th won the 200-Free (1:55.73), 100-Fly (59.37) and 500-Free (5:17.02) in a double-dual with Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy…won the 100-Fly (1:00.14) and 500-Free (5:15.36) events and placed second in a very close 200-Free (1:53.65) race when facing Regis College on Nov. 22nd…when competing against Husson University on Jan. 18th won the 1000-Free (11:14.57) and 200-Fly (2:21.50) and finished third in the 50-Free (25.05)…when competing against Husson a week later won the 400-IM (4:47.00) and 100-Free (53.32)…during the GNAC Championship posted 21 points after winning the 200-Fly (2:02.04*) a team record and finishing sixth in the 500-Free (5:10.23) and 100-Fly (57.00) events; Whaley also posted a team-record 5:03.03* time in the 500-Free prelims.

Why Saint Joseph's? SJC has every aspect I wanted such as size and location plus it's a beautiful campus.

High School: Swam at Merrimack High School…earned the Coaches' Award…Helped his team win New Hampshire State Championships his sophomore, junior and senior seasons…New Hampshire Scholars honoree…swam club for Storm Swim Team for 11 years and Executive for one year.

Community Service: Dominican week long mission trip, day away Alzheimer's program, senior service day (yard cleanup for senior citizens).

Personal: Evan James Whaley, son of Cynthia and Francis Whaley…has three siblings, Kate, Russell, and Emily.
